Will the County need to raise my taxes to pay for this bond?

Yes. The County cannot repay this bond, if approved, without a tax increase. A property tax increase of 4 cents per $100 valuation will be needed for the principal and interest payment on the bonds. This increase would mean that for every $100,000 of assessed property value, a taxpayer would pay an additional $40.00 per year in taxes. For the average home in Forsyth County valued at $350,000, the tax increase would be approximately $140.00 per year, a small price to pay for higher quality of life and potentially higher property values!
